Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

That I respect teachers, OSIS, and Friends, I’m very honoured to stand up here in front of you. Before I begin the speech, I’d like to introduce myself my Name is Dea Fitri Khaerunnisa and my address at Bumi Panyileukan blok i 3 no. 1. I am one who ran to be chairman of the OSIS SMAN 90 Bandung, we sincerely hope that you can pick me as the next student council president who will replace the old student council president, Kinanti Rahayu who will step down. Later if i selected as chairman of the student council, I’m ready to take on all mandate that will be given by all the students and I would turn on again the whole student council activities and I also would enable all activities was down for at SMAN 90 Bandung such PE between school, race - a race that is science, and many other events that could bring a friend - friends all over again in terms of experience - it. All input and advice provided by friends, students and especially teachers, will we perform. We want SMAN 90 Bandung will be more advanced and more students become student and also a student berkoopeten students who can comply with all regulations adopted by the school talah. once again we hope friends - friends will be able to choose our new student council election tomorrow. So that is a little introduction of my mission and vision.

Cast

·         James Franco as Oscar "Oz" Diggs:

      A womanizing con artist, stage magician, and barnstormer who is part of a traveling circus in the Midwest. He is whisked in a hot air balloon by a tornado to the Land of Oz, where he is believed to be a wizard destined to bring peace to the land, forcing him to overcome his dubious ethics to convince his peers he is the hero needed by the people of Oz.

·         Michelle Williams as Glinda, the Good Witch of the South:

      She rules and protects a peaceful kingdom in Oz inhabited by kind Quadlings, tinkers, and Munchkins. Oscar originally believed her to be the Wicked Witch responsible for terrorizing the land. She guides Oscar to achieve his destiny of defeating Evanora, becoming his love interest in the process. Williams also plays Annie, an old flame of Oscar's and future mother to Dorothy Gale, the protagonist in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

·         Mila Kunis as Theodora:

      A beautiful and naive good witch who has the Land of Oz's best interests at her heart. She believes that Oscar is the wizard prophesied to defeat the seemingly evil Glinda from the Dark Forest, developing an attraction to him in the process. Evanora gradually manipulates Theodora into thinking Oscar has betrayed her for Glinda, ushering her transformation into the Wicked Witch of the West.

·         Rachel Weisz as Evanora:

      The protector of the Emerald City and former advisor to the original king of Oz, whose murder she has committed prior to the events of the film, framing his daughter Glinda for the murder. Being a Wicked Witch, she has a hideous form which she hides by wearing a necklace that gives her the appearance of a stunning young woman. She deceives Oscar by framing Glinda for the King's murder and telling Oscar that Glinda is the Wicked Witch rather than herself.

·         Zach Braff as the voice of Finley / Frank:

      Finley is a winged monkey who pledges an irrevocable life debt to Oscar, believing him to be the prophesied wizard, for saving him from the Cowardly Lion. He quickly regrets his decision when Oscar reveals he is not a wizard, but nonetheless becomes his loyal ally. Braff also plays Frank, Oscar's long-suffering yet loyal assistant in Kansas.

·         Bill Cobbs as the Master Tinker:

      The leader of the tinkers who are ruled by Glinda.

·         Joey King as young girl in wheelchair/voice of China Girl:

      A young, living china doll from China Town where everything, including its inhabitants, is made of china. Her home is destroyed by Evanora, leaving her its only survivor when she is found by Oscar, with whom she forms a strong friendship. King also plays a girl in a wheelchair visiting Oscar's magic show in Kansas.

·         Tony Cox plays Knuck:

      The quick-tempered herald and fanfare player of Emerald City who is allied with Glinda. 

Plot

      In 1905 Kansas, Oscar Diggs works as a small-time magician in a traveling circus. As a storm approaches, the circus strongman learns Oscar has flirted with his wife and goes after him. Oscar escapes in a hot air balloon, but is sucked into a tornado that takes him to the Land of Oz. There he encounters the beautiful yet naive witch Theodora, who believes him to be a wizard prophesied to destroy the Wicked Witch who killed the King of Oz. En route to the Emerald City, Theodora falls in love with Oscar. They encounter the flying monkey Finley, who pledges a life debt to Oscar when he saves him from a lion.

      At the Emerald City, Oscar meets Theodora's sister Evanora, who tells him the Wicked Witch resides in the Dark Forest and can be killed by destroying her wand, the source of her powers. Oscar and Finley are joined en route to the forest by China Girl, a young, living china doll whose village and family were destroyed by the Wicked Witch. The three reach the forest and, upon retrieving the wand, discover the "Wicked Witch" is Glinda the Good Witch, who identifies Evanora as the true Wicked Witch. Evanora sees this with her crystal ball and tricks Theodora into thinking he is trying to court all three witches. She offers Theodora a magic apple she says will remove her heartache; Theodora bites it and turns into a green-skinned Wicked Witch.

     Glinda brings Oscar's group to her domain in Oz to escape Evanora's army of Winkies and flying baboons. She confides to Oscar that she knows he is not a wizard, but still believes he can help stop Evanora. He reluctantly takes charge of an "army" of Quadlings, Tinkers, and Munchkins. Theodora enters Glinda's domain and angrily reveals her new, hideous appearance to Oscar before threatening to kill him and his allies with the Emerald City's well-prepared army. Oscar despairs of his chances, but after telling China Girl about the exploits of his hero Thomas Edison, he conceives a plan that relies on trickery.

      Glinda and her subjects mount a fake attack on the Emerald City using a pulley-rig army of scarecrows hidden by thick fog. The witches are tricked into sending their flying baboons through a poppy field that puts them to sleep. However, two baboons manage to capture Glinda, who is brought to the city square and chained. Meanwhile, Oscar infiltrates the Emerald City with his allies, only to seemingly abandon them in a hot air balloon loaded with gold, which Theodora destroys with a fireball. Oscar then secretly reveals his engineered death to his friends. Using a hidden smoke machine and image projector, he presents a giant image of his face as his "true" form, and a fireworks display to intimidate the Wicked Witches. Evanora fearfully hides in her castle while Theodora flees on her broom, unable to hurt the "invincible" wizard. China Girl frees Glinda, who defeats Evanora, destroying the Wicked Witch's emerald necklace that hides her true, crone-like appearance. The banished Evanora is carried off by the two remaining flying baboons.

     Oscar, now ruler of Oz, uses his projector to sustain the belief he is a powerful wizard. He also presents gifts to his friends: Master Tinker, who helped build his machines, receives Oscar's camping-tool jackknife; Knuck, the grumpy Munchkin herald, receives a mask with a smiley face; the long-suffering Finley receives Oscar's friendship along with his top hat; and China Girl accepts her friends as her new family. Finally, Oscar takes Glinda behind the curtains of his projector, thanking her for making him a better person, and they kiss.

My Opinion

     This film is very entertaining and utterly bewitching magic that elegantly evokes the classic while being entirely in tune with the sensibilities of modern-day audiences.

Inspiring Story

Terry Fox 

Terrance Stanley "Terry" Fox CC OD (July 28, 1958 – June 28, 1981) was a Canadian athlete, humanitarian, and cancer research activist. In 1980, with one leg having been amputated, he embarked on a cross-Canada run to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Although the spread of his cancer eventually forced him to end his quest after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 mi), and ultimately cost him his life, his efforts resulted in a lasting, worldwide legacy. The annual Terry Fox Run, first held in 1981, has grown to involve millions of participants in over 60 countries and is now the world's largest one-day fundraiser for cancer research over C$600 million has been raised in his name.

Fox was a distance runner and basketball player for his Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, high school and Simon Fraser University. His right leg was amputated in 1977 after he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, though he continued to run using an artificial leg. He also played wheelchair basketball in Vancouver, winning three national championships.

In 1980, he began the Marathon of Hope, a cross-country run to raise money for cancer research. He hoped to raise one dollar for each of Canada's 24 million people. He began with little fanfare from St. John's, Newfoundland in April and ran the equivalent of a full marathon every day. Fox had become a national star by the time he reached Ontario; he made numerous public appearances with businessmen, athletes, and politicians in his efforts to raise money. He was forced to end his run outside of Thunder Bay when the cancer spread to his lungs. His hopes of overcoming the disease and completing his marathon ended when he died nine months later.

He was the youngest person ever named a Companion of the Order of Canada. He won the 1980 Lou Marsh Award as the nation's top sportsman and was named Canada's Newsmaker of the Year in both 1980 and 1981. Considered a national hero, he has had many buildings, roads and parks named in his honour across the country.

My Holiday

Last holiday was not too impressive for me. First, I went to Ciamis to see my grandparents only two days and one night. My parents had to go back to work in Bandung. I only had a little time to see my grandparents. The next day, I just stayed at home help my mother. I was very bored. At home there is only me, my brother and my sister. Sometimes my brother went and left me with my sister. I was not happy to be left only with my sister at home. My sister will be okay at first, but after that she will get bored and whining to me. That was very annoyed.

One day, my father said that he would take us to somewhere so I'm not get bored at home again. I was very happy to hear that and immediately get ready. I went happily. My father did not tell us where we going. It made me curious. My father leads his car to tollroad. My father stop his car at rest area KM 88. I asked "Is it still long road daddy?" and my father replied "This is the place child." and I just "hhh" 

My father took tollroad just to eat at the rest area because my father loved the food at that place. After eat at that place, I went home. Feeling disappointed again. I just stayed at home again. I remember there is a homework that must be completed. Gamtek! Finally I did my gamtek homework to reduce feeling bored.

BRINICLE (Natural Phenomena)

BRINICLE

A brinicle (brine icicle, also known as ice stalactite) forms beneath sea ice when a flow of extremely cold, saline water is introduced to an area of ocean water, being the undersea equivalent of a hollow stalactite or icicle. 

Known since the 1960s, the generally accepted model of their formation was proposed by the US oceanographer Seelye Martin in 1974. The formation of a brinicle was first filmed in 2011 by producer Kathryn Jeffs and cameramen Hugh Miller and Doug Anderson for the BBC series Frozen Planet. 

At the time of its creation, a brinicle resembles a pipe of ice reaching down from the underside of a layer of sea ice. Inside the pipe is the supercold, supersaline water being produced by the growth of the sea ice above, accumulated through brine channels. 

A brinicle can, under the proper conditions, reach down to the seafloor. To do so, the flow of supercold brine from the ice pack overhead must continue, the surrounding water must be significantly less saline than the brine, the water cannot be very deep, the overhead sea icepack must be still, and currents in the area must be minimal or still. 

Under the right conditions, including favorable ocean floor topography, a brine pool may be created. However, unlike brine pools created by cold seeps, brinicle brine pools are likely to be very transient as the brine supply will eventually cease. 

On reaching the seafloor, it will continue to accumulate ice as surrounding water freezes. The brine will travel along the seafloor in a down-slope direction until it reaches the lowest possible point, where it will pool. Any bottom-dwelling sea creatures, such as starfish or sea urchins can be caught in this expanding web of ice and be trapped, ultimately freezing to death.
